Hi, and welcome to The Good Path podcast.
The is where we will Explore, Examine, and Discuss the hard questions related to living a spiritual life.
A parable:
The Good Path is like being invited to a wedding. When you attend you’re encouraged to participate in the enthusiasm, joy, and expectation of the families of the bride and groom. But there are those, because of skepticism, who will refuse to associate themselves with the festivities. And there are others, because of jealousy, who will attend, but they will stand aside and ridicule the excitement, happiness, and promise. Then there are a few, who, through faith, will attend and participate completely in the fulfillment of the promise of the love, trust, and hope of the bride and groom. This is like The Good Path.
The prophet Jeremiah once said to the people of Israel, “Stand by the paths and look around, ask for the old pathways, where The Good Path is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.” Jer 6:16
In this verse Jeremiah makes 4 statements, and 1 promise…
Jeremiah’s 4 statements are the tag line for this website; wait on God, watch Him work, want His will, and walk His path…
Jeremiah’s promise; Then you will find rest for your souls.
Is your walk with God a relationship, a fellowship, or a bond?
We have a relationship with the Father because of Jesus Christ… Romans 5:11
We have fellowship with the Father because we share Jesus Christ (1Cor 1:9), the spirit (Php 2:1), and faith (Phm 1:6 & 1Jn 1:7)
We have a bond/union with the Father through His Glory… Jn 17:22-26
What is the glory of God? It is –
- The Gospel of Jesus Christ (Jn 17:1-8)
- The Name of Jesus Christ (Jn 17:9-12) – Power of the Name
- The Word of Jesus Christ (Jn 17:13-19)
- The Love of Jesus Christ (Jn 17:20-26)
Though everyone in the world has a relationship with God, because He is the Father of us all, and some even have fellowship with God because they accept His laws, only those who believe in the Gospel, the Name, the Word, and the Love of Christ can receive the Glory of God and be Bonded with the Father and His Son.
What is The Good Path? You tell me what you think it is. Leave a comment here and lets discuss it in the community.
Thank you for listening, and I pray that God will richly bless you as you journey on The Good Path.
This was a gentle introduction to the insight of God’s will for our lives and I’m excited to get into the meat of the Word. I totally agree that there is only one path – “Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” … Matthew 7:14. This world is filled with wolves in sheep’s clothing and so many Christians are being deceived and are following the wrong path. We need to stay focused on Jesus and His gospel so that we can know Him and do His will, and share the truth with those who don’t know Him. The time is drawing close to His return and we need to get the truth out there. Thanks for making me part of this community. God bless.
Thanks for your comments Ronnie. I appreciate your insights. Besides the introduction to The Good Path, I wanted to address the terms relationship, fellowship, and bond, as they’re related to God and believers. There is only one way to have a bond/union with our Father, and that is to receive His Glory. As Christ stated, the Glory of God is 1) The Gospel of Christ, 2) The Name of Christ, 3) The Word of Christ, and 4) The Love of Christ. There is no way to have a bond with God without Christ. There are many paths, but if Christ isn’t the focus, then it isn’t The Good Path.
Thanks again for your comment.
So extremely grteufal and proud of my husband Walt who served our country in the Air Force. Also this is a very special Veterans Day for us as a family as we just welcomed our son Jared home from Afghanistan. So proud of him and the sacrifices he has made for our country. I do not take this blessing lightly as I am grteufal to all those families who bore the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom through the loss of a family member. God’s blessings to all our veterans! Thank you for your service.
Amen! God bless all those who have laid down their lives for love. Bless your family and every family who have suffered similar losses. One day God will put an end to war and death through the power of Jesus Christ. Stay strong in your faith!
