America’s reaction to Syria using chemical weapons against their own people in their ongoing civil war, pointed out once again the great hypocrisy of our time. American leaders lectured the world about the horrible tragedy of so many children (456) dying when Syria launched missiles filled with deadly chemicals into a rebel village.
The reaction of the United Sates reminded me of what the prophet Isaiah once wrote, “These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship is a farce, for they teach man-made ideas as commands from God.” (Isa 29:13)
America, through its leaders, is constantly invoking the name of the Lord, as its’ guiding authority and protector. And yet this is only lip service to God, because the heart of the country is far from Him. America takes the ideas of men and makes them into laws, and teaches them as commands from the Lord. The perceived service of America to God, as Isaiah said, is a farce.
Why do I say this as it relates to the recent events in Syria? Because every year in the United States 1.2 million children are killed through abortion, the law of the land (man). Of that total, 200,000 American children die by the use of chemical weapons. That’s 8 times more children being killed every single day in the United States then all the children who died in the Syrian attack.
What chemical weapons are used against children in America? The 2 chemical weapons used against children in America are, Plan B and Ru-486.
Plan B doesn’t end a pregnancy that’s already implanted, but it can prevent a fertilized egg from attaching itself to the uterus, thus preventing the survival of the child. RU-486, though, does terminate an established pregnancy, killing the child in the womb with chemicals. America has implemented a chemical warfare plan against unborn children to insure that if the child escapes the first attempt to kill it, prior to attaching to the mother’s womb, then it will be terminated anyway in the safety of the womb. There is no escape, and no defense for the child that’s been targeted by America.
When Jesus spoke out against the hypocrisy of the leaders in his day, he was told that they were offended by his words. His response was, “So what.” His actual words were, “Every plant not planted by my heavenly Father will be uprooted, so ignore them.” As I said, “So what.”
A culture that isn’t rooted in the truth of God, but substitutes its ideas for Gods commands, will be uprooted. Eventually, every hypocritical society will be undone. Not by the hand of God, but by their own hand. As Jesus said to those listening to him, “Ignore them. They are blind guides leading the blind, and if one blind person guides another, they will both fall into a ditch.” (Matt 15:8-14)
We can ignore the blind hypocrite leaders as they lead their followers into a ditch, but are we blind hypocrites also if we ignore the destruction of the children caught in their warfare?
