In this episode of The Good Path we’re going to pickup from the last episode with Revelation 1:10-11;

1.  The Lord’s Day

This is why traditionally, the first day of the week, Sunday, is the day that believers met together. But can believers meet on other days? The Apostle Paul gives us the answer to this from Romans 14:5-6.

2.  The Lord’s Voice

  • What is apocryphal or prophetic writing?

Whose voice are we listening to, and are those other voices beneficial to us? Ecc 2:17

  • Parents
  • Friends
  • Teachers
  • Leaders
  • Religious leaders
  • The world

 3.  The Lord’s Word

  • We hear the Lord’s Word and interpret it through our experiences.

4.  The Lord’s People

  • Ephesus
  • Smyrna
  • Pergamum
  • Thyatira
  • Sardis
  • Philadelphia
  • Laodicea

Note: What is a Church?

There are some basic rules for interpreting scripture;

  • Definition
  • Usage
  • Audience
  • Context
  • Logic

All 7 churches John wrote to, had their issues they had to face every day. Churches aren’t perfect, they are just filled with people who have faith that even with their imperfections one day the one who is perfect will save them.

1.  The Lord’s Day – any day we give to God

2.  The Lord’s Voice – not man’s voice

3.  The Lord’s Word – has power to change lives

4.  The Lord’s People – believers in Him

Easter is the celebration of the day Jesus was resurrected. Can we make that His Day? Can we listen for His Voice on that day? Will we speak His Word like when the disciples first heard that he was risen (Luke 24:1-6). That’s the Word of the Lord that has the power to change the world, “He is risen!”
