The Psalmist wrote, “This is the day that the LORD has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24

We now come to the last church that Christ speaks to in Revelation. This message to the believers in Laodicea is as timely today as it was 2,000 years ago; Revelation 3:14-22

1. The People of Principle; the name Laodicea means “decisive or dogmatic people”…

  • They are known for having opinions…
  • They are independent…
  • They are rich…
  • They were astute in politics, business, and religion…

2. The Person of Principle; Christ describes Himself to the church in Laodicea in 3 ways;

  • The Amen; certain, record it because it is done…
  • The faithful and true witness; sure and truthful
  • The beginning of God’s creation; the cornerstone of God’s building

3. The Church of Principle;

  • Hot
  • Cold
  • Lukewarm

4. Finding Our Principles;

The Laodicean believers thought they were;

  • Rich
  • Prosperous
  • Self-Sufficient

But, Christ said they are actually;

  • Wretched – enduring the daily struggle
  • Pitiable – in need of compassion & mercy
  • Poor – not just poor, but a homeless beggar
  • Blind – both physically & mentally
  • Naked – like Adam & Eve, though they made clothes they were still naked before God…

Christ counsels the Laodiceans to find their principles in 4 steps;

  • Buy Gold from Him
  • Get White Garments from Him
  • Get Salve to see from Him..
  • Be Zealous

A. Buy Gold from Jesus; What is God’s gold? Luke 12:29-34

B. Get White Garments from Him…

C. Salve to see from Him..

D. Be Zealous… have a passion…

5. When His Principle comes knocking; Rev 3:20

  •  How should we answer the door when Christ knocks?

The foundation has been laid by Christ through John for the churches to be ready to receive the message of Revelation

That foundation is; Christ is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last… He is in control of the church, and He is in the church… He died and He’s alive… He is the Son of God and His Word has the power to save, which is the Good News He brought by His grace and truth… He is the fullness of God to the church and its’ leaders… Christ alone has made heaven accessible to all, and no one can change that… All that you have heard and you will hear is irrefutable, completely true, and foundational to your faith…

Everyone who has ears to hear this message, let them hear it…
